Mission San Juan

Mission San Juan is part of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed San Antonio Missions. Its distinctive white church and surrounding grounds offer visitors a quieter and more rural atmosphere than some of the city’s larger mission sites.

 

Agriculture played an important role in life at Mission San Juan. Fertile land and an extensive irrigation system allowed the mission community to grow crops and raise livestock, helping support both the mission and the surrounding region. The historic landscape remains an important part of understanding the site today.
