The Whirlpool Aero Car offers one of the most unique perspectives of the Niagara River, carrying passengers high above the Niagara Gorge and the swirling Niagara Whirlpool below. Suspended from cables stretching across the gorge, the historic attraction provides panoramic views of the river, surrounding cliffs, and dramatic natural landscape.

Designed by Spanish engineer Leonardo Torres Quevedo, the Whirlpool Aero Car has been carrying passengers across the Niagara Gorge since 1916. The cable car travels between two points on the Canadian side of the gorge, although the route crosses the international border between Canada and the United States several times because of bends in the Niagara River.

During the ride, passengers can look down into the Niagara Gorge and see the powerful Class 6 whitewater rapids feeding into the Niagara Whirlpool.
