Bay of Fundy

The Bay of Fundy experiences an extraordinary tidal cycle, with enormous amounts of seawater flowing in and out of the bay each day. In some areas, the difference between high and low tide can reach more than 15 metres, dramatically transforming the surrounding coastline over the course of several hours.

 

Visitors can experience the bay from destinations throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Popular attractions include the Hopewell Rocks, Fundy National Park, coastal lookouts, beaches, hiking trails, and communities overlooking the water. The bay is also known for its rich marine ecosystem and opportunities to spot whales and seabirds.
