💡 歷史沿革
Maid of the Mist 於 1846 年起步，最初是在 Niagara River 美國一側、Niagara Falls 附近往返兩岸的渡輪。它於 1846 年 9 月 18 日首度啟航。這艘可載 100 名乘客的渡輪一度營運興盛，直到美國與加拿大之間興建吊橋，渡輪的客流因而減少。業者因此調整渡輪的服務規劃，將 Maid of the Mist 轉型為觀光遊船，帶乘客更靠近瀑布。
今日仍在營運的 Maid of the Mist 公司，於 1884 年由船長 R. F. 卡特與法蘭克·拉布隆德創立。自 1971 年起，這家渡輪公司由格林家族擁有並經營。如今船隊共有兩艘船，皆於 2020 年開始營運。這兩艘全電動渡輪之一命名為「詹姆斯·V·格林號」，以紀念董事長暨執行長；另一艘則命名為「尼古拉·特斯拉號」，向交流電馬達之父致敬。Maid of the Mist 這個名稱，很可能源自易洛魁人關於勒拉瓦拉的傳說。
