A beautiful statehouse with a lot of helpful employees. I’ve been here on a lot of field trips and have learned something new every time. Tours are very interesting and informative and are open to the public. The amount of marble is almost overwhelming but definitely beautiful. One of my classes was able to take part in a mock debate in the House chambers, an unforgettable experience to say the least. For the smallest state, Rhode Island’s statehouse sure is spectacular.

The Independent Man is currently on display for the public before it is sent out to be repaired in early January 2024. Very cool to see, and also saw an informative display on slavery and civil rights in Rhode Island while there to see him. Check it out while you can!

Really beautiful and interesting building to visit. Additionally it is free to enter and there are really good free tours as well.

A well-curated and well-maintained house museum. It not only tells the story of the Brown family and their property, but also explores connections to race, class, politics, and commerce in Rhode Island, America, and across the world. It’s not afraid to share “hard histories.” Additional exhibits explore other aspects of the state’s past. The museum manager, Mr. Hernandez, was very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and welcoming. Cheers to the Rhode Island Historical Society and its staff.

A great museum to visit especially the out of towners , but recommended for the locals as well. They museum staff are extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. Truly a great fun place to visit!

John Brown House Museum

Learn about the Brown family, one of the most influential and wealthy families in the colonies and later in the United States. 

Be prepared to walk up quite the incline to get here

“The Jewel of the City", Prospect Park attracts visitors for its beautiful panoramic view of the city, the view some of the city's most prominent landmarks, and offering the perfect place to watch the sunset. 

My wife and I went on the haunted boat tour last night at 9:15 pm and we had an excellent time on board. Great tour guide - engaging and informative. I was actually a bit surprised that there was nothing about HP Lovecraft at all!

In any case, I would 100% recommend this  tour to any visitor to Providence.

We did the ghost tour and it was so much fun! Amazing staff and overall great tour.

Great experience.  Wish it was longer to have spent more time on the Providence River.
