Description
Located on Maine’s rugged coastline, Acadia National Park is a rare combo of ocean views, woodland paths, and mountain air—all within reach from Bar Harbor. The Best of Bar Harbor w/ Thunder Hole and Acadia National Park is a thoughtfully designed tour where guests can experience the park’s most beloved sights in a comfortable, small-group setting. Each stop at Acadia provides scenic beauty and a deeper sense of place that makes the park truly memorable.
The first stop of the tour is Sieur de Monts Spring, the gentler side of the park. It is surrounded by soft forest trails and gardens that give it a peaceful, quiet environment. The spring houses the Abbe Museum and nature center, which allows guests to look into both the area’s Indigenous history and natural environment. It’s a serene starting point that eases you into the pace of the day.
Next is Thunder Hole, a coastal inlet where the Atlantic Ocean is louder and more dramatic. Here, waves funnel into a narrow channel and crash into rocks with a thunderous boom. However, some days it’s a soft spray, others it’s a full-on ocean roar. Either way, it is engaging, enjoyable and reminds you of the untamed energy that defines this coastline.
The tour continues to Otter Cliff. It is one of the most captivating points along the Park Loop Road. The granite cliffs stand over 100 feet above sea level and give you astounding views of the ocean and surrounding forest. This is a favorite spot of photographers. The cliffside offers a different kind of quiet, shaped more by wind and sea than trees and trails.
From there, we head to Jordan Pond. It’s a peaceful glacial lake with waters so clear you can see straight to the bottom. The pond has quiet walking paths on the sides where you can sit back and appreciate the park framed by the iconic Bubbles mountains. This stop includes a meal— a lobster roll or pop-over—served with views of the water and beautiful surrounding area. It’s not rushed, and the setting turns lunch into part of the experience.
Throughout the tour, guides share local insights that add to the sense of discovery and makes the tour worthwhile. This tour is one of the best Bar Harbor tours that allows you to connect with this coastal national treasure.

We had a wonderful experience on our recent tour of Acadia National Park with Austen Fishburg. Although he was a little late getting started—understandably, as there doesn’t seem to be quite enough time between tours—he more than made up for it with his friendly personality, deep knowledge of the park, and great sense of humor. Austen kept everyone engaged and made the entire day enjoyable from start to finish. Ending the tour with a visit to a local lobster shack was the perfect touch! Highly recommend booking with Austen if you get the chance.

I am a travel agent, and I am always impressed with See Sight Tours. This was a fabulous tour, with so many opportunities to see gorgeous scenery, and highlights in the area. We had plenty of time to explore each stop, and never felt rushed. Craig was an amazing tour guide, and had such knowledge of the area. He was exceptionally kind and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed his tour. See Sight never disappoints, and certainly didn't this time. I encourage you to book the Best of Bar Harbor and Acadia if you are in the area, and ask for Craig. I look forward to taking this tour again in the future.

This tour is fantastic and well worth the fee. Our driver and tour guide Sean was great. His knowledge and historic facts of the park made it interesting. We visited many key areas of Acadia National Park. Plenty of time to explore and see the stops we made. The size of the tour, 3 Couples was good. Sean's easy going personality was great. Easy to ask questions about the park and his knowledge is vast. Lunch was great too. I would book with this company again
