Scenic Chicago Night Tour is designed for guests who want to experience the spirit of Chicago after sundown. This 3.5-hour small-group tour is ideal for those who want to see the city in a calm, engaging, and well-paced setting. With hotel pickup and drop-off included, this evening tour offers a smooth and relaxing way to explore some of Chicago’s most beloved sights with a knowledgeable local guide by your side.
Your evening begins with your guide picking you up from your downtown Chicago hotel and taking you to one of the most iconic landmarks in the city—Willis Tower (formerly known as the Sears Tower), one of the tallest buildings in the Western Hemisphere. You will take the elevator to the 103rd floor to arrive at Skydeck Chicago.
From Skydeck, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the city that stretches across four states on a clear night. The standout experience here is The Ledge—a glass balcony 1,300 feet above the ground. It's a perfect place to take some photos and see the energetic streets below.
Next, you'll board the Shoreline Architecture Cruise for a relaxing boat ride that glides along the Chicago River. While on the cruise, your guide will point out over 40 architectural landmarks in the city’s skyline as viewed from the river. You will see the illuminated facades of the Wrigley Building and Tribune Tower reflected on the river.
Another highlight of the tour is a visit to Cloud Gate, known as "The Bean." Placed in Millennium Park, this public sculpture by British-Indian artist Anish Kapoor is Chicago’s most photographed landmark. Its smooth, mirrored surface reflects the city skyline and the starry sky that looks amazing at night.
With a maximum of seven guests per tour, this night tour Chicago experience remains intimate and hassle-free. From architectural wonder to thoughtful design, this night tour offers a well-rounded introduction to Chicago that balances sightseeing with space to simply take it all in.
Important Information
Know Before You Book:
- The exact length time for a tour may vary slightly based on traffic and seasonality (during off-peak times, tours tend to be a little shorter due to less traffic.
- The cruise is replaced with a Field Museum during winter.
- The lead traveler’s name is needed for all bookings.
- Full names of all travelers are required when making a reservation.
Know Before You Go:
- Don’t forget to bring a camera and some spending money for souvenirs along the way.
- This tour involves a moderate amount of walking so it’s advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes.
- If we don’t stop at Buckingham Fountain and Adler viewpoint, we will substitute with a luxurious drive up Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile; including hop-out stops at The Chicago Theatre, the Chicago Picasso sculpture in Daley plaza, and the Chicago Watertower (sole survivor of the Chicago Fire).
- Check the weather forecast and dress appropriately for the conditions
- Pick up time will be confirmed 1-3 days prior to the tour date via email or phone. If you do not have access to these, please be ready 30 minutes before the tour start time in the hotel lobby.
