We went to Niagara Falls on the NY side to celebrate our wedding anniversary and would highly recommend it!

The parking was very accessible and close to the walking trails, and the entire park was very well maintained. It was patrolled by several rangers during our time there and is a very beautiful and intriguing place to visit. Also an economic trip as the park was free to enter and nearby hotels are extremely reasonable.

It's dog friendly-the entire park and the Cave of the Mist is as well (last I checked). Our dog absolutely LOVED being able to see the falls and explore the paths. Goat Island is simple to navigate with various landmarks and sights to admire. Great view of the falls. We went during December and this was an optimal spot to watch the fireworks.

Beautiful, but couldn’t walk down close due to weather.

You can go and feel the nature. It’s clean and so much to do there!
Very relaxing!

Goat Island is a part of the Niagara Falls State Park and sits between the Bridal Veil Falls and Horseshoe Falls offering many great views of the Falls, including from Terrapin Point. Goat Island also connects to nearby Luna Island and Three Sisters Island.

Great trails for walking. Be aware that the whirlpool trail is 367 steps down to the river and an additional 47 steps up to the parkway. There are picnic tables near the bottom.

Whirlpool State Park is located in Niagara Falls, NY and makes for some amazing photo opportunities of the Niagara with an impressive view of the Whirlpool Rapids. 

Gives a whole different perspective to the falls!! Would 100% do again!!

Cave of the Winds is not worth spending half a dollar on. The view is bad, it is a better experience to walk around the river throughout the park!

Your guide will then bring you to your first attraction, a boat ride on the famous Maid of the Mist. Before you board, you’ll have a chance to check out the view from the Prospect Point Observation Tower, located directly above the boarding site for the Maid of the Mist boat tour. While you’re on the boat tour, you’ll take in incredible views, hear the thunderous roars of the rushing waterfalls and you may get a bit wet, depending on where you stand - but don’t worry, you will be provided with a rain poncho for this boat ride. 

After Goat Island, journey to the Cave of the Winds where you will descend 175ft. into the Niagara Gorge before heading out onto a series of walkways leading to the “hurricane deck” - only a few feet away from the Bridal Veil Falls. You will be so close that it will feel like you’re surrounded by tropical storm-like conditions, even when it’s calm out.  

Your final stop on the tour will be a visit to Whirlpool State Park. While you’re here you’ll have the opportunity to snap some impressive photos of Niagara’s Whirlpool Rapids.
