To begin your tour, your local friendly guide will meet you outside of 211 Walter Seaholm Dr, Austin, TX 78703, USA. Starting out, you will walk towards the Willie Nelson statue, passing by the Austin Public Library along the way.
From there, you will begin walking through the Rainey Street Historic District. This increasingly popular tucked-away street is dominated by renovated houses turned into bungalow bars. Day or night, you’ll find relaxed bar-goers strolling from bar to food trailer, often with their dogs in tow looking for a drink and bite to eat. After strolling through this lively neighborhood, you will begin your walk toward your first food stop.
Your first tasty sample will be sausage macaroni & cheese. This mouthwatering comfort food is the perfect smokey and cheesy entry into your BBQ journey. When you are finished eating, your guide will then lead you toward the Colorado River, where you will see The Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. The bridge is famous for the world’s largest urban bat colony that resides under it. If you happen to be in Austin between March and October, be sure to also book our Scenic Austin Night Tour as you will get to witness the 1.5 million Mexican (or Brazilian) Free-Tailed Bats take flight from underneath the bridge at dusk!
Next, you will head to the second food stop along your tour for an incredible pulled pork sandwich. This saucy handheld snack is sure to impress your taste buds and leave them wanting more! After you’ve finished your sandwich, you’ll need something refreshing to quench your thirst. You will receive a shaved ice treat at your next stop that not only tastes amazing, but will cool you down from your walk in the Austin heat!
From here, you will continue toward your last food stop through the Red River Cultural District, which is a creative community providing authentic Austin experiences through diverse local music, art and food for every fan and guest. This culture hub is essential to visit during your time in Austin.
Your last, but definitely not least, BBQ stop is the perfect way to top off your tour. You will get the chance to enjoy your choice of an incredibly flavourful smoked meat. Choose from items such as pork, beef brisket, chicken, turkey, and more! These tender slow cooked meats will leave you satisfied at the end of your tour.
