About Oakes Garden Theatre

Oakes Garden Theatre is a beautifully landscaped park located at the foot of Clifton Hill, offering a peaceful setting just steps from the excitement of Niagara Falls. Formal gardens, stone pathways, ornamental ponds, and elegant architectural features create a scenic space with impressive views toward the American and Horseshoe Falls.

What to Know

Opened in the 1930s and operated by Niagara Parks, Oakes Garden Theatre was designed as an ornamental gateway to the Niagara Parkway. Its landscaped grounds incorporate curved staircases, stone walls, pergolas, gardens, and open lawn areas, creating one of the most distinctive public spaces near the Falls.

💡 What to See and Do

Walk through the formal gardens, admire the historic stonework, and stop at the elevated viewpoints for photos of Niagara Falls and the surrounding landscape. The gardens provide a quieter contrast to nearby Clifton Hill and are especially colourful during the warmer months when seasonal flowers and greenery fill the grounds.
